1. When placed on a Casting Table it is able to create Broadaxe Heads out of molten metals by pouring them out of the Smeltery

2. Most items and mobs have Aspects assigned: items smelted in an Essentia Smeltery turn into Essentia of those Aspects, and monsters killed with a weapon enchanted with Essence Harvester drop Vis Crystals of those Aspects.
